Red roses? Soooo basic. Try starting your Valentine's Day with a frosty, chocolately, healthy smoothie-for-two... Rrrowrrr. Okay, you might have to spring for some flowers or a candlelit dinner later, but start your morning but a pair of these beauties and set the tone for a blissful and decadent V-Day.Â
Serves 2, naturally.
Ingredients:Â
- 2 frozen bananasÂ
- 1/3 cup cubed beet (raw or steamed until tender, then frozen)
- 2 tbsp cocoa powderÂ
- 2 pitted dates
- 1 cup dairy free milk , plus more as needed (we like coconut or almond)
- 4 ice cubes
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Toppings:Â
- Vegan coconut cream or whipped creamÂ
- Raspberries
- Vegan chocolate chips
Directions:
- Add all of the ingredients to a high speed blender and blend until smooth.
- Fill a glass half full, layer with vegan coconut cream, top with additional smoothie and then garnish with more whipped cream, raspberries and dark chocolate chips.Â
- Serve immediately (in bed).
